The Kong Big 8 descender has a distinct and utilitarian design that features wings that create a locking knot. It is perfect for belaying the first climber with double ropes. The descender features a large opening at the center that helps in overcoming any knots on a rope created while climbing.

This descender works perfectly on 9 to 16 mm thick ropes and is available in two different base materials: stainless steel and alloy. Most of the activities that require the use of this descender include caving, snow & ice, canyoning and rope access. The “8” shaped design of the descender also adds to the durability which makes it suitable for all types of challenging situations. The descender has CE certification and is available in color options of red, polished, black and inox.
