Life/form® Pediatric Caudal Injection Simulator is an exclusive dual-purpose simulator designed with exceptional realism. The simulator imitates a one-year old infant in the left lateral decubitus position with neck and knees flexed. It comes attached to a board for enhanced stability during practice. It is a useful product for doctors and teachers to teach medical students and young nurses on how a caudal bock is a useful method of regional anesthesia in pediatric surgery. It has an anatomically correct coccyx with sacral hiatus along with embedded iliac crest, removable spine, tactically correct spinal canal, and two soft skin pads. The skin pads include one transparent for introductory anatomic study, and one opaque for more radical hands-on training. It provides the students to practice and remove all apprehensions in conduction of such critical procedures with precision on a single simulator. The simulator allows trainees to practice key skills specific to pediatric lumbar puncture and caudal injection procedures. It allows students to also practice needle positioning and insertion, cerebrospinal fluid collection and measuring cerebrospinal fluid pressure. The infant simulator measures 20” x 7” x 6” and the board measures 22” x 10”. The complete kit includes two skin pads with spine and spinal tubing, IV bag with tubing, baby powder, hard carry case, and instruction manual. The kit does not include fluid supply stand and needle.
