Measuring Wheel with Paint Can Holder
To assist in photography and documentation at outdoor crime scenes or at traffic accidents, add paint to show the location of evidence, stops and starts of skid marks and other measuring points. These paint marks show up well in photographs and can be used later for reconstruction purposes as most paints will last a few weeks before fading.
This 2-wheel measuring device with a marking paint can holder can be used for measuring the scene and for adding paint marks. A trigger on the handle activates the inverted tip paint can to make a short mark or hold the trigger down to walk and spray a longer mark. When you go to the hardware or paint store to purchase paint, select a color which will contrast with most outside surfaces. Also, be sure you obtain paint cans with inverted tips. Otherwise, the paint can will not work with the trigger.
The heavy-duty metal handle is 31" long (non-telescoping) with a comfortable polymer handle. The measuring wheel records up to 10,000 feet and there is a reset button to take the counter to zero to start a new measurement. Here is one of the those great two-in-one tools. It allows you to measure distances within your crime scene or accident scene and lets you mark the locations of evidence or other important factors in the investigation.
