ISC RED Backup Device

Simple, yet effective, the ISC (International Safety Components) RED Backup Device is a successfully evaluated and tested rope grab backup device designed by ISC to put up with the safety needs of the rope access market. This simple and effective back-up device features non-aggressive cams having a positively locking spring that upholds the devices position on the rope. This device is self-parking, rather than self-tailing like many rope grabs, which means it stays in position rather than drifting down the rope. This device is tested to successfully take on a two-person rescue load

The ISC RED Backup Device make use of ‘Rotating Braking’ feature, which indicates the device rotates clockwise creating friction and resistance. It provides effective automatic braking in the event of a sudden fall or pull on the cows-tail like mainline failure in Rope Access. It can be fitted with a ‘Popper’ breakaway clip that works as a secondary attachment point for the tow cord and allows to increase the effectiveness of the rotational brake in a panic situation. The device is also available in standard tow cord & non-tow cord versions as well.
