The illuminated triangle reticle overcomes the disadvantage of crosshairs that can disappear due to lack of contrast, when aiming at a dark animal, or in low-light conditions. The glowing point also helps guide the eye to the target, increasing transitional speed, for faster aiming. When sufficient light is present, the fiber-optic light collector automatically balances aiming point brightness to ambient light levels. When desired, a manual brightness adjustment overrides automatic operation, allowing hunters to dim reticle brightness to suit personal preference.
The AccuPoint features the military-proven Bindon Aiming Concept (BAC) that, with two-eye-open aiming, reduces the effect of background movement in the scope, and "zooms" the target into focus. According to Glyn Bindon, Trijicon president and inventor of the Bindon Aiming Concept, as well as numerous other optical and sighting innovations, AccuPoint riflescopes incorporate the most significant optical and aiming features of Trijicon’s combat scopes, developed for the military. Previously unavailable to hunters, these features can greatly improve chances for a successful hunt; even when lighting conditions and terrain are less than ideal.
In appearance, the AccuPoint resembles conventional hunting scopes, except for the clear, high-impact polycarbonate cover that protects the coiled, fiber-optic light collector. It features and aircraft-quality aluminum body with a non-reflective matte black finish.
The AccuPoint also incorporates many features of the finest conventional riflescopes, including a quick-focus eye-piece, which matches optical performance to an individual hunter's vision. Multi-layer coated optics gives hunters a sharp, well-defined target, even in low light. The scope is nitrogen-filled and waterproof , and comes with a lifetime warranty, as well as a 15-year warranty on the replaceable tritium.
