The Kong D Quick Link is a heavy duty device meant for sports activities and professional work and rescue activities. It is available in durable carbon steel and aluminum alloy base material options. The circular "D" shape design gives its structure greater strength than other carabiners. It can be used to create sternal anchor point on harnesses.

This Link is ideal for usage in caving and mountaineering activities. It can also be used for rescue purposes including fire brigades and civil protection activities. Other purposes include scaffolding and trestles, confined spaces, tree-climbing, roof and inclined planes, metal structures, portable stairs and elevating platforms, sailboats and rope access. The aluminum alloy carabiner can take 10 to 25 KN of weight while the carbon steel carabiner can take up greater weights from 15 to 50 KN.
