It consists of anatomical details casting made form molds from an actual cadaver dissection. The midsagittal dissection allows detailed study of the internal structures and provides students an opportunity to understand what happens when you catheterize a patient. In addition to the demonstrated gross Anatomy, Cath-Ed I allows for realistic practice in catheterization. The vulva has been molded realistically to allow practice in identifying the urethra and proper spreading of the labia. It also features a functional bladder that has been incorporated to allow simulated urine flow when you insert the catheter.
