Luminol
The Lightning Luminol is a chemical that displays chemiluminescence with a blue glow, when it is mixed with a suitable oxidizing agent. This water-based spray reagent is used primarily for the detection of trace amounts of blood at the crime scenes. It is easy to use, simply identify the area that is to be tested, then turn out the lights and spray the area with this chemical.
The Lightning Luminol helps highlight the traces at the crime scene that otherwise are not visible to the naked eye. The traces can be revealed with a chemical reaction between hemoglobin in blood and several other chemicals. A murderer might dispose of the victim’s body and mop up the blood pool but the evidence will still remain without the heavy-duty chemical cleaning. The positive presumptive identification for blood presence can be viewed as a blue/white glow. The pattern can then be photographed and there is no need of any light source for viewing it.
