MMC Barbiturates Drug Test Kit C

This narcotic test is used for the presumptive substance identification of Barbiturates.

MMC BARBITURATE TEST

APPLICATION:

Used as a presumptive test to detect the presence of Barbiturate. The test has a sensitivity; LDL (Lower Detection Level) of < 1 mg depending on the purity of the sample.Take an ampoule and note whether the crystals are still bright. In case they are dark coloured, such ampoules cannot be used. Compare the colour changes with the colour indicated on the ampoule (Each ampoule can be used only once)

How to use the test:

Remove the sealing cap and open the ampoules as follows: Take the lower part of the ampoule in the left hand, and take the top (upper part) between index finger and thumb and snap off at the fracture line by applying pressure to the side.

There are two ways to finish the test:

• Transfer a little of the sample under examination into the plastic cap and put this cap on top of the opened ampoule and turn the cap upside-down so the material will fall down .
• Keep the ampoule in the upright position so that the substance is deposit on the bottom of the ampoule. And transfer the suspected material into the ampoule. Allow the suspected material and the reagents/granulate to mix. This can be achieved by tapping the ampoule with the finger or with a light shake and merge with the round site of the spatula . In case of the presence of Barbiturate the crystals and liquid will turn into purple (within seconds). In all cases the colour change is fully developed within 1-2 minutes. A further elapse of time produces only a slight colour change depending of the colour. The test should be evaluated after 1-2 minutes have elapsed.

NOTE: For both methods it is recommended that a clean spatula is used. A further elapse of time produces only a slight change, depending on the colour.

SPECIFICITY: The presence of Barbiturate is indicated by a change in colour of purple . In addition some medicines can produce similar or different colours.

STORAGE: How to store the ampoules: The ampoules should be protected from light and temperatures over 35 ºC. (95F)

SAFETY: Keep the ampoules out of the reach of children. In case the crystals /liquid come in contact with the eyes, skin or clothes, the effected areas have to be rinsed with water.

DISPOSAL: After use the ampoules we recommend to dispose the test ampoules into the bottle bank . Or in accordance with the waste Disposal regulations current in the country use.
