MMC PMK/BMK Drug Test

This test is used for the presumptive identification of Benzyl Methyl Keton and Piperonyl Methyl Keton.

MMC PMK – BMK TEST

APPLICATION:

Used as a presumptive precursor test to detect / Differentiate the presence between PMK.(Piperonylmethylketone) and BMK (Benzyl methyl ketone). The test has a SENSITIVITY; LDL (Lower Detection Level) of < 0,1 mg depending on the purity of the sample. Take an ampoule and note whether the crystals are still bright. In case they are dark coloured, such ampoules cannot be used. Compare the colour changes with the colour indicated on the ampoule (Each ampoule can be used only once)

How to use the test:

Knock the unopened ampoule several times against a hard surface-for example, the top of the table, for a few seconds. In this way, particles which may be sticking to the inside of the ampoule wall will fall downwards. Remove the sealing cap and open the ampoules as follows: Take the lower part of the ampoule in the left hand, and take the top (upper part) between index finger and thumb and snap off at the fracture line by applying pressure to the side.

There are two ways to finish the test:

Liquid PMK/BMK

• Transfer a little of the sample under examination into the ampoule by wetting the (round end part of the spatula with the substance .
• In case of the presence of PMK the crystals will turn orange –brown and BMK into green (in some cases it may turn into dark Red). In all cases the colour change is fully developed within l- 2 minutes. A further elapse of time produces only a slight colour change depending of the colour. The test should be evaluated after 1-2 minutes.
• Any other colour should be ignored

SPECIFICITY: This precursors test is to identify /differentiate PMK.(Piperonylmethylketone) BMK (Benzyl methyl ketone).

STORAGE: How to store the ampoules: The ampoules should be protected from light and temperatures over 35 ºC. (F 95)

SAFETY: Keep the ampoules out of the reach of children. In case the crystals come in contact with the eyes, skin or clothes, the effected areas have to be rinsed with water.

DISPOSAL: After use the ampoules we recommend to dispose the test ampoules into the bottle bank . Or in accordance with the waste Disposal regulations current in the country use.
