Ruth Lee Thermal Imaging Hood for Water Rescue
The Ruth Lee Thermal Imaging Hood is an essential tool designed to enhance water rescue training by enabling search and rescue teams to locate water-bound victims more efficiently with thermal imaging technology. This innovative hood fits securely over any adult Ruth Lee Water Rescue Manikin, instantly transforming it into a thermally detectable target for training simulations. It allows rescue teams to train effectively with drones, helicopters, or on-ground thermal imaging devices.
This is powered by a 6-amp battery that can preheat the hood for one to two hours, or three to four hours with continuous battery attachment, the hood provides flexibility based on operational needs and ambient temperatures. The hood's durable woven fabric ensures optimal heat dispersal, making the entire head detectable on thermal cameras. Additionally, the hood is easy to maintain, as it can be machine-washed if soiled, adding convenience for frequent training sessions.
Features:
- Fits snugly over the head of our Adult Water Rescue Manikins to ensure it stays in place in the roughest of waters.
- Visibility on camera tested from an altitude of 2000 ft.
- This robust hood can be worn by any Ruth Lee adult manikin.
- Extensively tested with Bristow (current contract holders for the UK Coastguard operations) and several UK-based SAR operators using Thermal Imaging Cameras.
- Heated by a 6amp battery attached to the manikin's torso using a specially designed holster.
- The suit can be put into the washing machine if it becomes soiled.
- Strong, woven material allows fast heat dispersal across the whole head.
