The Simulaids IV Training Hand is designed to upskill medical students and train personnel in starting IVs and venipuncture. Crafted with supple PVC material, the hand features a soft humanistic feel. The IV training hand has palpable skin that allow students to easily locate the vein and insert needle. The injected needle may draw the simulated blood or inject the fluid into the vein system. A typical "pop" effect can be felt as the needle penetrates the vein system. In order to gain better understanding and knowledge related to venipuncture and injection procedure while dealing with patients with slightly darkish skin tint, the IV training hand is also available in African-American skin texture. It aid students and personnel in developing more accuracy in related skills.

The realistic IV training hand also features lifelike skin roll-over, and aid in practicing procedures and techniques in venipuncture before administration to live patients. This can be helpful in demonstrating various IV exercises like sterile technique, taping and securing techniques, sharps injury protection, and infusion or withdrawal procedures. This unit is made to withstand repeated use.
